Anesthesiology Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship

The ACGME accredited fellowship in Pain Management consists of a 12-month period of training in which the fellow will participate in patient care on both the outpatient and inpatient pain management services. In the last year, patient visits increased by 13% and this is expected to continue to grow. During this time, we also provided 1,290 new patient consults, 5,123 follow-up visits, performed 3,043 procedural interventions and conducted 1,069 behavioral medicine visits.

The mission of the Anesthesiology Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center is to provide advanced training in multidisciplinary pain management by providing the highest quality education to improve the quality of life and function in patients with acute and chronic pain. In addition our fellows should leave us with a strong foundation for lifelong scholarship, professional development and personal wellness. 

The above core resolution aligns with the aims set forth in the mission of the University of Rochester Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine, which is to educate the next generation of leaders in anesthesiology through the provision of state-of-the-art patient-centered care and the discovery of new knowledge that will shape tomorrow’s care. 

The program’s mission additionally aligns with the larger mission of its sponsoring institution. As such the mission of UR Medicine is to improve the well-being of patients and communities by delivering innovative, compassionate, patient- and family-centered health care, enriched by education, science and technology that follow the guideline of “Meliora”, ever better.
