How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in the Child Neurology Residency Program at the University of Rochester.
Please note that we only accept applications submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
For medical students applying in the 2021-2022 Match, we are accepting applications for 2 categorical positions. The categorical positions will include two years of graduate training in Pediatrics and three years of graduate training in Child Neurology at the University of Rochester. There is one application process for those positions, and no need to apply separately to the two programs.
Please also note that, in accordance with our residency selection policy, we are unable to consider any applications from foreign medical graduates who are not ECFMG certified at the time of application to the residency program. We also only sponsor J-1 Visas.
Interviews for invited applicants take place on Mondays (Child Neurology) and Tuesdays (Pediatrics), from October through January. In accordance with AAMC and AAN guidelines, all interview days will be virtual this year. We are hoping that applicants will still get the ability to understand the “feel” of our program through our electronic materials, live sessions, and planned informal time with the residents.
On Sunday evening, we will have a live session with our residents for informal conversations about each other, the program, and the city. The interview program will begin on Monday morning and will include a combination of electronic materials and live sessions. The program includes orientation meetings with the Adult and Child Neurology program directors, a virtual tour of the clinical and research facilities, more time with the Neurology residents, Child Neurology Patient of the Week conference, and individual interviews with members of the faculty. Applicants should indicate any specific clinical or investigative interests so additional interviews can be arranged.
On Tuesday, applicants will go through the virtual interview day for the Pediatrics residency and will have individual interviews.
