1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in the ServiceNow Program ("Program") at the University of Rochester Medicine for SMS alerts, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not opt in.

2. Description of Service

The Program sends SMS notifications about critical IT incidents and services affecting University of Rochester Medicine systems. Messages may include incident alerts, FYIs (For Your Information), and eCAB (Emergency Change Advisory Board) notices.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a valid U.S. mobile number capable of receiving SMS.
  • You agree to provide accurate contact information and notify us of any changes.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Maintain your mobile device and service so you can receive messages.
  • Inform the ISD Service Desk promptly if you change numbers or carrier.
  • Keep your opt-in status current; re-consent if requested.

5. Messaging Rates & Frequency

  • Message and data rates may apply according to your carrier plan.
  • Message frequency varies based on real-time incident activity.

6. Opt-Out & Support

  • To stop all messages, reply STOP. You will receive one final confirmation SMS.
  • For help or more information, reply HELP or contact us at ISD_Services@urmc.rochester.edu.

7. Privacy

Your personal information and message history are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with third parties except as required for system delivery or by law. Personal data collected through the short code/SMS program will not be shared, sold, or rented to unaffiliated or affiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

  • The Program is provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this service.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued participation after changes constitute acceptance. We will post revisions at this link.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
