Overview

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Rochester has strong inpatient and outpatient clinical programs, serving as a major tertiary referral center for Western New York and surrounding areas. Our physicians are amongst the most highly trained in the regions, with national reputations as leaders in clinical Endocrinology.

Services

Our outpatient clinics see over 12,000 patients per year, and our providers see the entire spectrum of endocrine disorders, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer
  • Pituitary disease
  • Bone disorders
  • Adrenal disease
  • Diabetes transition
  • Obesity
  • Transgender care

In addition to our outpatient activities, we have a busy inpatient consultation service that, in addition to treating diabetes and other endocrine disorders, includes assisting in the treatment of cardiac, renal, liver, and pancreas transplant patients who are admitted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The Division takes a multidisciplinary approach to all aspects of Endocrinology, working closely with surgery, nutrition, ophthalmology, nephrology, and podiatry services, as well as the Pediatric Endocrine and Reproductive programs at the University of Rochester.
