About Me

Bilal Ahmed graduated medical school from Lahore, Pakistan in 1987. He soon moved to the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom to complete his internal Medicine training. Bilal Ahmed graduated medical school from Lahore, Pakistan in 1987. He soon moved to the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom to complete his internal Medicine training. He is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of London, Edinburgh and the Republic of Ireland. He Specialty Certification in Pulmonary Medicine in the UK, and his main area of interest was epidemiology of Asthma.

After attaining a consultancy in the NHS in UK, he moved to the USA and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. He worked as an Internist in Geneseo, New York, after completing his chief resident year and then moved back to Highland Hospital.

He was the Vice Chief of Medicine and is presently the Associate Medical Director at Highland Hospital

He was previously the Associate Program Director of the University of Rochester Internal Medicine Residency Program at Highland Hospital.

Dr Ahmed is also the Chief Medical Officer for the University of Rochester's regional affiliate hospitals, including Noyes memorial Hospital in Dansville NY and St. James Hospital in Hornell NY.
He was previously the CMO at Warsaw Community Hospital.

He continues to be closely involved with resident and medical student education and has received more than 40 teaching awards in recognition of his academic teaching activities.

His particular areas of interest are bedside teaching, practice based developing learning and cognitive and heuristic skills in patient care.

He is currently boarded in Internal Medicine, as well as in Hospice and Palliative care.

He serves on various local and national committees.
