Leslie Algase, MD, is the chair-elect designee of the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians, the largest medical specialty organization in the U.S. She has practiced medicine and taught residents and medical students for four decades. She earned her medical degree and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. She then served as a staff internist at the Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major. Since then, she has served the greater Rochester community in private practice and various positions at Genesee, Highland, Rochester General, and Strong Memorial Hospitals.
