Teresa Wei Chen Is a Senior Instructor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester Flaum Eye Institute. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California San Diego, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and cell biology with a minor in psychology. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State of New York College of Optometry in 2020. She went on to complete an Accredited Residency Program in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Veteran Affairs New York Harbor Health System in Brooklyn and St. Albans. After residency, she chose to continue to care for the veteran population at the Manhattan campus.

Dr. Chen has experience in diagnosing and treating ocular disease and co-managing medical and surgical patients with ophthalmology subspecialists. She has growing interest in contact lens fitting, including gas permeable and scleral lenses. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is fluent in Mandarin. She sees patients at Flaum Eye Institute’s main campus as well as its Brighton, College Town, Geneseo and Pittsford satellites.
