Biography

Professional Background

Dr. Deborah King is Professor of Psychiatry, Chief of Psychology and Associate Chair for Education in the Department of Psychiatry. She also serves as Director of Fellowship and Graduate Training at the VA VISN 2 Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention in Canandaigua, New York. As a career educator, she has worked actively to promote inter-professional training for clinicians, training faculty and researchers in university, community and VA settings. Her scholarship focuses on late-life depression and suicide, including family interventions for older adults with mental health challenges or life-threatening medical illnesses.
