Dr. Katherine Kaproth-Joslin received her MD/PhD degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY in 2009. The PhD portion of the degree was awarded through the Department of Pharmacology in the fall of 2007 based on her work in cell and molecular signaling, with her thesis topic titled: Phospholipase C?1 Regulates Cell Proliferation and Cell Cycle Progression from G1 to S Phase by Control of Cyclin E/CDK2 Activity. Dr. Kaproth-Joslin completed her preliminary year in internal medicine from the Department of Internal Medicine at the Unity Health System, Rochester, NY in 2010. She went on to complete her Diagnostic Radiology residency in 2014 and subsequent fellowships in Breast and Cardiothoracic Imaging from the Department of Imagining at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester NY in 2015. Dr. Kaproth-Joslin obtained her American Board of Radiology certification in 2015.

Dr. Kaproth-Joslin specializes in diagnostic imaging of the thorax and the vasculature, including the heart, lungs, mediastinum, and blood vessels. She has been invited to speak at local and nation meetings, including the Society of Thoracic Radiology, North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, and Radiologic Society of North America. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Radiographics and Insights into Imaging. She has received multiple honors and awards at the national level, including being selected by CMEinfo in 2018 for inclusion in the highlights of STR 2018 Thoracic Imaging Conference for her review of the congenital and acquired abnormalities of the bronchus, originally presented at the Society of Thoracic Radiology, Austin, TX.

Dr. Kaproth-Joslin's has a special interest in the congenital imaging of the heart involving both the pediatric and adult populations, including the optimization of CT and MR imaging for these patients. In addition, she has an academic focus on resident education in the field of radiology, both with regards to teaching cardiothoracic imaging as well as improving the structure and methodology of radiology education in academic medicine.

Dr. Kaproth-Joslin is an active member in the Society of Thoracic Radiology, North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, Radiologic Society of North America, and the American Medical Association.
