Professional Background

Donna Kreher, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Dr. Kreher received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at URMC.

Dr. Kreher works to address the unmet needs of individuals living with chronic pain through clinical, leadership, scholarship, and teaching activities. As Director of University Mental Health Practice, she has developed services for patients requiring specialized care and has increased access to behavioral supports for those coping with chronic pain. She provides consultation, evaluation and ongoing therapeutic support for patients living with pain, and has particular expertise in chronic pelvic pain. Her scholarship centers on the role of psychological factors in the onset and maintenance of chronic pain. Dr. Kreher has given presentations on biopsychosocial approaches to pain in local, national and international organizations, and has provided clinical supervision and research mentorship to numerous graduate and postgraduate trainees.
