Craft Brews Are the Main Event at Fundraiser

Selections from Roc Brewing Company's slate of artisanal lagers, stouts, and ales will be on tap from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Friends of Strong's newest event to raise money for patients of the hospital and their families.

130905fosbeer.jpgJust $30 per ticket will get you in the door of Roc Brewing Company, 56 South Union St., Rochester. Guests will enjoy a flight of four beers and an additional half-pint from Roc Brewing Company's lengthy beer list. Complimentary snacks will be available from Rochester Public Market legend Marty's Meats—best known for serving up juicy treats-to-go on skewers. Roc Brewing's bar also will remain open for those who would like to linger after the event wraps up.

Friends of Strong Director Louise Criticos said, “At our annual wine gala in February, our beer tasting table was such a big success, we felt it would be a fun opportunity to welcome a new generation of young professionals who appreciate well-crafted beers and care about supporting a wonderful cause like the patients and families at Strong Memorial Hospital. Our volunteers have worked very hard to help make sure this is an event we will be able to bring back year after year.”

Five pairs of round-trip airlines tickets will be among the items offered at a silent auction. Space is limited, so attendees are urged to purchase tickets early. Tickets are available online at https://giving.rochester.edu/olc/pub/URO/onlinegiving/showGivingForm.jsp?form_id=154102. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card are accepted. You can also get your tickets with cash or check at Friends of Strong, located just off the lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester. Contact them at (585) 275-2420, or visit their website at http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/friends-of-strong/. For further information, visit Roc Brewing Company and Marty’s Meats.

Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
