The Friends of Strong Summer High School Volunteer Program Officially begins on July 6! Help us kick off this summer season by welcoming a new ambitious group of area high school students. This program began soon after Friends of Strong became an official organization in 1975. We have hosted many incredibly talented students over the years.

2026 Rochester River Run 5K

The Rochester River Run/Walk 5K—Sunday, April 19 at Genesee Valley Park—is celebrating its 25^th year raising funds in support of patients awaiting or recovering from organ transplant surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital. Individuals and teams are invited to sign up to run, walk, or pledge their support at RiverRun.urmc.edu.

50 Years of Friends of Strong

In 2025, Friends of Strong celebrates 50 years of service to Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends of Strong is an organization of dedicated volunteers and staff who advance the mission of UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital through volunteerism and fundraising to provide support and services to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
