Gewandter Team

research

The Gewandter Team's research is focused on developing novel therapies for chronic pain through improving clinical trial design and conducting high-quality clinical trials. She and her team serve as a clinical hub in the NIH-sponsored Early Phase Pain Investigation Clinical Trials Network (EPPIC-Net) and conduct industry-sponsored clinical trials in areas of high unmet need. Their investigator-initiated studies focus on phenotyping and developing interventions in painful distal sensory polyneuropathies. Dr. Gewandter is dedicated to increasing the impact of her work through collaborations, mentorship, and consultation with companies developing novel treatments for chronic pain. She mentors medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and clinician faculty members interested in starting a research career.
