Criteria for Entry into Animal Rooms

Non-human Primate

  • Gloves, eye protection, mask, shoe covers, buttoned lab coat or gown.
  • Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any non human primate room.

Dog, Rabbit, Sheep, Goat, Pig, Cat

  • Gloves, shoe covers
  • Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any room housing pregnant sheep.

Rodent

  • Isolation gown, gloves, mask, headcover and shoe covers
  • MicroIsolator Technology training is required prior to entry into rodent rooms employing MicroIsolator husbandry strategy.

Bat

  • Isolation gown, gloves, eye protection, mask, and shoe covers
  • Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any room housing bats.

Ferret

  • Gloves, shoe covers, mask, and lab coat or gown
