The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) at the Wilmot Cancer Institute provides centralized research support and serves as a data repository for all oncology-related clinical trials at the University of Rochester. The CTO supports investigators from divisions and departments across the University of Rochester Medical Center, including Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Urology and Pediatrics.
Research is one of the highest priorities at Wilmot. The mission of the Clinical Trials Office is to provide exceptional centralized infrastructure to support physicians at Wilmot who conduct clinical research. Wilmot Cancer Institute is recruiting the following skilled professionals on its clinical trials team:
Clinical Research Regulatory Coordinator: responsible for the coordination and oversight of regulatory requirements of clinical research protocols.
Clinical Research Coordinator (Study Coordinator): responsible for assisting in the clinical operations of the Clinical Trials Office. This includes but is not limited to planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating specific clinical research studies as assigned. Under the ultimate responsibility of the Principal Investigator (PI) and the mentorship of a Supervisor or more senior CRC, the CRC assists in the day-to-day operations of enrolling patients onto clinical trials and coordinating the follow-up of patients already enrolled.
Clinical Research Nurse (CRN): responsible for assisting in the clinical operations of the Clinical Trials Office. This includes but is not limited to planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating specific clinical research studies as assigned. Under the ultimate responsibility of the Principal Investigator (PI) the CRN assists the clinical staff in recruitment, enrollment, compliance and follow-up of patients that are eligible for, or registered to a clinical trial by managing the research portion of the patient care activities through the application of independent judgment, communication and Clinical Trials Office standard operating procedures.
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in clinical research or in a health-related field is preferred, but not required.
Clinical Research Nurse applicants must have an active New York State Registered Nurse license. Clinical research and/or oncology experience preferred. An additional opportunity exists for an Assistant Nurse Manager, which requires at least 3 years of nursing experience to qualify.
