Biography

Dr. Shayne is Associate Professor of Medicine in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the Eastman School of Music and master's degree from the Julliard School before returning to the University of Rochester to obtain her medical degree. She remained at Strong Memorial Hospital for her internship and residency in Internal Medicine. She then completed her oncology fellowship training at Harvard's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass. She is in clinical practice at Comprehensive Breast Care at Pluta. In addition, she is the Director of the Hereditary Cancer Screening and Risk Reduction Clinic at Wilmot Cancer Institute. Her research interests include the study of chemotherapy-related toxicity in older cancer patients, and survivorship.

Michelle Shayne, MD, FACP is Associate Professor of Medicine and Oncology in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Wilmot Cancer Institute of the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Shayne received her medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Shayne's clinical and research interests are in breast cancer, cancer genetics, and survivorship. She is the Clinical Co-Director of the Judy DiMarzo Survivorship Program and she directs the Hereditary Cancer Screening and Risk Reduction Clinic, both at the Wilmot Cancer Institute.
