Project SEARCH® at the City of Rochester was launched in September 2010. The project operates in partnership between the Rochester City School District, Arc of Monroe, ACCES-VR, Finger Lakes DDSO, and is coordinated by the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities.

A Typical Day

Time Activity
7:45 a.m. Students Arrive at City Hall
7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. Morning Instruction
8:45 a.m. Students Depart for Internships
9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Internships (30 minutes for lunch)
1:30 p.m. Students Depart for City Hall
1:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. Afternoon Instruction, Journaling, and Problem Solving

Participants have access to a wide variety of internship options in bureaus and departments throughout City government, including (but not limited to):
