Endometrial Cancer

Make Appointments & Get Care

What is Endometrial Cancer?

Uterine and endometrial cancers, though often collectively referred to as "uterine cancer," have distinct features. The uterus is the female reproductive organ where a fetus develops, and cancer can arise either in the inner lining (the endometrium) or the muscle layer of the uterus (the myometrium).

Endometrial cancer is the most common form of uterine cancer and is often highly treatable.

Wilmot Cancer Institute provides advanced care for uterine and endometrial cancers as part of our Gynecological Oncology Program. Our researchers also conduct investigations at the Targeted Therapeutics Laboratory for Gynecological Cancers.

Our physicians at Wilmot have received specialized training in gynecological cancers, making them experts not only in cancer but also in gynecological cancers. All surgeries for gynecological cancers are performed at UR Medicine's Highland Hospital in Rochester.
