Overview

The UR Medicine Thoracic and Foregut Surgery team includes our region's experts in diagnosing and treating conditions that impact the chest and chest wall (including your lungs), and the foregut — which includes the esophogus, stomach, and small intestine.

Our speciality-trained surgeons work hand-in-hand to diagnose and address the medical conditions that affect both of these regions of the body, approaching the chest and foregut as one unit. This results in a faster and more accurate patient diagnosis, more insightful and effective surgical treatments, and, most importantly, the best possible outcomes for our patients.

State-of-the-art diagnostic and esophageal motility laboratories are an integral part of the practice. Our division has been instrumental in the clinical development of ambulatory pH and impedance motility testing and promoting foregut diagnostics throughout the world.

We also have a comprehensive nutrition program, Nourish which helps families through the complexities of eating and getting nutrition before and after their treatment.
