Quality Assurance

Our office oversees quality of patient care and the safety of Eastman Dental patients, faculty and staff, and its many community locations. All those involved with patient care are expected to provide the most effective and high-quality service. We monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care and clinical performance, pursue opportunities to improve, and resolve concerns.

Our Services

Credentialing

We process and maintain a credential file for all medical/dental staff who are granted appointments and clinical privileges at Eastman Dental.

Risk Management

This involves a multi-disciplinary and proactive approach to be most effective in the dental setting. That’s why we incorporate a systematic process to reduce and/or eliminate the probability of losses at Eastman Dental:

  • Risk identification and loss prevention
  • Loss reduction
  • Risk financing

Environmental Health and Safety Mission Statement

To provide safety and advisory services to the Eastman Dental community through managing risk, assessing and evaluating the environment, advocating safe work practices, providing quality educational programs and ensuring compliance with University and regulatory standards. The EH&S consists of these distinct yet interconnected units:

  • Fire Marshal
  • Industrial Hygiene Unit — occupational/workplace safety
  • Radiation Safety Officer
  • Hazardous Waste Management Unit
  • Infection Control Program
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Medical Emergency Program
    Educates all dental care providers to recognize and appropriately respond to any medical emergent event
