Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This program prepares fellows to provide excellent, equitable, evidence-based clinical care to patients across the lifespan with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Upon completion of this fully accredited 12-month program, fellows will be eligible to sit for the subspecialty board exam in addiction psychiatry.
- Fellows will receive specialized training in formulation and diagnosis, psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological interventions, and treatment plan implementation across multiple levels of care.
- Housed in a comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment program and integrated opioid treatment program (OTP), fellows will receive specialized training in prescribing all FDA-approved Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT), including methadone.
- Fellows will engage in consultation and collaboration with both inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical teams, gaining experience in the treatment of addiction, and its medical and psychiatric sequelae, across the healthcare system.
