Fellows have a robust and diverse patient population to draw from, as University of Rochester Medicine Health System serves as Western New York’s perinatal referral center with approximately 3,200 deliveries per year (50% of which are high-risk deliveries). It is the only tertiary hospital in a 10-county region and draws from an obstetric population of over 16,000 deliveries per year. This population provides ample clinical opportunities for a complete fellowship education. Our Level IV NICU in the Golisano Children’s Hospital offers a full range of pediatric subspecialty support, allowing care for children with high complex disease from around the region and across the state.
University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital Reaches New Heights
Planning is underway to expand the emergency department and modernize Strong Memorial Hospital.
When complete, the emergency department will nearly triple in size, and a new nearly 600,000-square-foot patient tower will provide private rooms for a variety of specialty services.
