Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program

We are thrilled that all of our fellowship positions in our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program for the 2021-2022 academic year have been filled. We have 3 fellowship positions per year.

We are welcoming applications for the 2022-23 fellowship year.  We exclusively use ERAS for application information and participate in the NRMP Match. Applications for the program MUST BE IN ERAS website by July 21, 2021 when we will begin reviewing applications and offering interview dates. Additional details are available on the AAHPM website.

We are excited to offer a Pediatric track for one of our positions. We have approval for a 4th position for a neuro-palliative care track for 2022-23. This position has been filled outside of the Match. Neurologists are welcome to apply for the standard fellowship track and a focus on neuro-palliative care can still be accommodated.

Interviews for the 2022-23 fellowship year will be scheduled on selected Wednesdays in September - October 2021. Preferred candidates need to be Board Eligible or Board Certified by an ABMS-recognized board. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Dr. Erin Denney-Koelsch, Fellowship Director or Kelly Walsh, Fellowship Program Administrator.

Fellow Perspective

Ronald Maggiore, MD

What is a program highlight for you?

I liked the ability to do home visits as part of our continuity clinics.  I also loved the inpatient palliative care unit – an integral part of our training in managing end-of-life issues with patients and their loved ones.
