Curriculum

• Acute Pain Service (APS)- 26 weeks at level 1 Trauma Center performing advanced regional techniques and management of acute pain patients 
• Regional- 16 weeks at Ambulatory Orthopedic Surgery Center performing nerve blocks 
• Chronic Pain- 2 weeks inpatient Chronic Pain Service 
• Vacation- total of 4 weeks of vacation spread out throughout the year 
• Elective- total of 4 weeks of elective time during fellowship year and fellows can choose from the rotations or make their own (addiction medicine, pediatric regional, palliative care, research, etc.)
• 25 days will be assigned throughout the year as reading days used for reading textbooks, studying for board exams, preparing journal clubs, etc.

Additional education activities

1. Geriatric Hip Fracture Committee - multidisciplinary hospital-wide conference (geriatric medicine, orthopedic surgery, regional specialized anesthesiology) meet 4 times a year
   
   
2. Fellow Education Days - Fellows from all anesthesia subspecialties meet 2-4 times a year with guest speakers (House of Counsel, financial experts, etc.)
   
   
3. OSCE and Anesthesia Oral Board mock exams - minimum once before fellow's scheduled exam with opportunity to do more - held 4 times a year
   
   
4. Probes and Needles Workshop - held twice yearly, fellow will teach CBY residents in-plane needle visualization on meat models to simulate fascial plane nerve blocks
