Darla Carvallo Castaneda is an Internal Medicine graduate of the University of Rochester Medical Center and a graduate of San Fernando Medical School at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. She has distinguished herself through a commitment to clinical excellence, medical education, and service, including serving as Practice Chief at the Ambulatory Clinic and now as an Internal Medicine Chief Resident. Before residency, she worked as a primary care physician in a rural community in Peru and as a physician in Peru's COVID-19 Rapid Response Unit, experiences that shaped her patient-centered and equity-minded approach to medicine.

Dr. Carvallo Castaneda has been recognized for academic excellence throughout her training, ranking first in her medical school class for six consecutive years and placing third nationally on Peru's National Medicine Examination. Her scholarly work spans cardiovascular medicine, oncology, implementation science, and quality improvement, with peer-reviewed publications and presentations at local, national, and international meetings. She is passionate about teaching, mentorship, and advancing compassionate, evidence-based care for diverse patient populations.

Marwa grew up in northern New Jersey before attending the University of Miami, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. She then received her medical degree from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Drawn by the opportunity to be closer to family and by the University's supportive learning environment, Marwa completed her Internal Medicine residency in the Primary Care Track at the University of Rochester. Following her Chief Residency, she plans to continue serving the Rochester community as a primary care physician.

Marwa is passionate about building meaningful, long-term relationships with her patients and providing compassionate, personalized care. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, cooking, and baking.

Kelsey Kille, M.D.

Kelsey was born and raised in Johnson City, New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University before receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester.

Kelsey remains inspired by the exceptional mentorship she received during residency and looks forward to paying it forward during her Chief Resident year. After completing her Chief Residency, she plans to pursue a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology.

Outside of medicine, Kelsey enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and exploring new restaurants.

Genevieve Medina grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, with her parents and older sister. She attended Princeton University, where she studied Economics and researched the impact of business cycles on health behaviors. After graduation, she conducted research at Boston Children's Hospital before earning her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Throughout her training, Genevieve has been committed to quality improvement, small-group case-based teaching, mentorship, and resident well-being. As a resident, she served on the Wellness Committee and completed the Clinical Educator Track. She was drawn to URMC for its outstanding clinical training, emphasis on medical education, exceptional mentorship, and collaborative culture. Genevieve plans to pursue a career as an academic hospitalist.

Outside of medicine, Genevieve enjoys distance running along the Erie Canal while listening to new pop albums, quoting Saturday Night Live, and traveling to visit family and friends.
