How to Apply

Applications are only accepted through ERAS®. Each application is thoroughly reviewed and selection criteria are subjective. Interview slots are limited and are filled on a first-response basis. There are 8 positions per year.

Minimum Requirements

  • No more than two years out of medical school
  • Must have passed the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CS and Step 2 CK  or Comlex level 1, level 2 CK, and level 2 PE before applicants will be ranked.
  • We do NOT offer ANY pre-match positions

Information for International Medical Graduates (See minimum requirements above)

  • We do not offer observerships or externships
  • We offer J-1 Visas ONLY
  • You must provide a copy of your ECFMG certificate to the Residency Coordinator before January 11th, 2019 (with the exception of those graduating by May 2019) provided that all required steps have been successfully completed.
  • U.S. clinical experience is not necessary but highly recommended.

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation from persons of your choice
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE Scores
  • If you are a foreign medical graduate, you must provide a hard copy of your ECFMG certificate and a copy of your Medical School diploma prior to the institutional orientation.

PGY-2 or Above

A complete application must include:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation from persons of your choice
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE Scores
  • If you are a foreign medical graduate, please provide a hard copy of your ECFMG certificate and Medical School diploma.

 

Interview Information

Candidates selected for interviews will have an opportunity to meet with faculty and residents on interview day. There is a dinner with residents on Thursday evening (before the interview day).

Applicants who are invited for an interview will be provided with one night's lodging at the program's expense. Accommodations will be made by the program at Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown. Holiday Inn provides a free shuttle service to and from the University on interview day.
