Parking is available for this event in the East End Garage (accessible from East Main Street in either direction and, via East Avenue, Scio and Swan Streets), at a number of nearby lots, and on the street.
Master’s Degree candidates must arrive at the Lowry Hall (the main hallway in the Kilbourn Hall) by 11:15 am to allow sufficient time for robing and assembly of processional columns. Candidates will be lined up at 11:30 am in alphabetical order according to their school and degree (MA, MPH and MS). The procession will begin at 11:50 am.
Guests may enter through the main entrance of the Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre. Tickets are not required for this ceremony but please indicate the number of your guests attending the event on your response card so that we may plan accordingly.
Seating is available in a reserved area for guests with special needs. Seating arrangements can be made for guests with special needs by contacting the Event and Classroom Management Office at (585) 275-4111.
The following companies rent wheelchairs on a daily/weekly basis. As their inventories are limited, please call and make arrangements promptly.
Assistance for individuals with disabilities
Limited seating is available in reserved areas in Kilbourn Hall for guests that require wheelchair access. Students may request reserved area seating by contacting the Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs Office at (585) 273-1620 or by sending an email by April 27, 2018.
All candidates participating in the ceremony are required to purchase University of Rochester regalia (caps and gowns) through the University of Rochester Barnes and Noble Bookstore located in College Town, phone (585) 275-4012. The cost for master’s regalia is $83.16 (including tax).
Degree candidates are called to the stage to receive their diplomas by school and in degree order (MA, MPH, and MS).
A University of Rochester photographer will photograph degree candidates throughout the ceremony. Photographs will be posted to the Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs Commencement website in mid-June. After the ceremony, you may take additional photos with your guests at the reception.
A reception for graduates and their guests will be held immediately following the Ceremony in the Cominsky Promenade.
