MSRS Student Presentation Policy:  

ALL current MSTP students are required to register for and attend MSRS. Abstract submission for consideration of student talks is highly encouraged, although not required. Poster submission is required for all students M2 and above.

If you do not already have a poster prepared, please follow these instructions: http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/graphics/guide.cfm

We recommend a poster size of  3 by 4 feet, or 36 by 48 inches. 

Note: Slightly larger posters, 42 by 56 inches will NOT fit on the provided poster boards. If requested, we may be able to provide you with a larger poster board to accommodate these dimensions, but it will be on a first come-first serve basis as there is a limited supply. Please contact the MSTP Business Administrator, Nicole Cupp, to inquire.

Citations must be included on all manuscripts/publications/etc. created by U of R MSTP Students: “__________ is a trainee in the Medical Scientist Training Program funded by NIH T32 GM GM152318 & GM007356. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institution of General Medical Science or NIH.”

Guidelines for abstract submission (due March 13, 2026):

Name of training program(s) in which this research was conducted (see instructions below)
Department(s) in which research was conducted (e.g., Department of Neurology)
Author List (e.g. Jonathan D. Cherry, John A. Olschowka, and M. Kerry O’Banion)
Title
Abstract – limit to 350 words

Training program instructions:

MD/PhD students: list Medical Scientist Training Program AND granting program
MD non-PhD students: list School of Medicine and Dentistry AND name of year-out or summer program (if applicable)
Residents, fellows, and graduate students: list the name of respective program(s)
Postdoctoral fellows: Omit this line
