MSTP Annual Retreat

The 24th Annual MSTP Retreat Kicks Off a Fantastic Year

2026 Annual MSTP Retreat

We kicked off the year with our 24th Annual MSTP Retreat at Glendoveers on a beautiful sunny August day. Students presented an exciting mix of clinical cases and research talks: from a case of Streptococcus equi to mouse behavior, spatiotemporal lineage tracing to microfluidic perfusion, and bone marrow to the environmental conditions of life in space — we sure ran the gamut in terms of topics.

MSTP Keynote Speaker: Ethan Winkler, MD, PhDKeynote Speaker, Ethan Winkler, MD, PhD, presenting

We were excited to welcome back Ethan Winkler MD, PhD, a prominent vascular neurosurgeon and esteemed alumni of our MSTP, for the keynote address about his  research on vascular lesions and the  development of novel therapeutics. Sprinkled in with all the science, we had plenty of fun too, between a wacky scavenger hunt and edge-of-your-seat jeopardy. A few M4s also provided excellent advice on navigating the various stages of physician-scientist training, with an emphasis on staying true to yourself. Another successful retreat in the books!
