How You Can Help
Your Gift Benefits Meals on Wheels
As our population ages, the number of people in need of meals continues to grow. Meals are not generally covered by insurance, and although we are grateful for funding from the United Way and the Monroe County Office for the Aging, we cannot rely solely upon these sources to meet the increasing demand for meals. Donor support is critical to keeping older adults healthy and safe in their homes. Here’s how you can help:
Purchase Meals to Relieve the Waiting List
Our waiting list for meals continues to grow. Your gift of $2,550 will take one person off the waiting list by purchasing enough meals for an entire year.

Host an Event
As an individual, corporation, business, or group, you can host an event and designate Meals On Wheels as a beneficiary. Hosting an event is a wonderful opportunity for you to support seniors in need, while also receiving marketing exposure and valuable consumer contact. Your fundraising event can be a dinner, concert, fashion show, bowl-a-thon, wine tasting, restaurant promotion, art auction, food festival, silent auction at an existing event, or even a portion of proceeds of a sold item. If you are interested in hosting or sponsoring an event to benefit for Meals On Wheels, contact the Foundation at (585) 274-4253 or URMHC-Foundation@URMC.Rochester.edu.
Fund Warmest Wishes
Each December, volunteers deliver holiday gift bags to our Meals On Wheels participants most in need. For many, this is the only gift they will receive during the holiday season. Your gift of $1,000 will purchase 100 gift bags.
Wrap a Delivery Van
Help us spread awareness of Meals on Wheels by giving one of our delivery vans a makeover. Businesses that donate $2,400 to sponsor a wrap will also receive advertising space on a van that travels daily throughout Monroe County.
Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and needed! Please help us in our mission to provide hot meals and warm smiles to those who depend on us by making your gift today.
