URMC GPS ECHO
GPS: Health & Wellness Program’s Project ECHO, is a virtual learning space for health care providers and therapists across Western NY in providing affirming care to adults. We welcome health care providers of all disciplines (including medicine, nursing, social work, psychology...) and of any specialty, who serve patients in Western NY. There is no fee for participation.
Through this ECHO, we aim to improve access to knowledge, research, health care delivery, and clinical treatment when working with adults, grounded in best practice guidelines and evidence-based medicine.
Learn in depth about various topics related to affirming care from folks in various disciplines and specialties.
Here is an example of some of the topics we cover:
- Hormone prescribing
- Partnerships with behavioral health
- Preventative care
- Affirming voice therapy
- Affirming surgeries
- Sexual health considerations and many more!
Structure and Schedule
From October to June, the series will be offered on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 12:00-1:00pm.
Provider Foundations Series: During the months of April to June the series focuses on introduction to highest yield topics, aiming to lay the groundwork for providers new to providing affirming care.
We know that clinicians are busy and may not always have a predictable schedule. Even if you know you won't be able to attend every session, we still welcome you to sign up and attend whenever your schedule permits. Some of our sessions are recorded and posted on the iECHO platform, along with the slides from the presentation. Registration is on a rolling basis.
