Falsetta Lab

Welcome to the Falsetta Lab

We are committed to translational women’s health research. Our focus is to uncover the mechanisms that contribute to vulvar disease with the following goals:

  1. Improve patient care in the short term by better implementing existing treatment strategies or using “off label” treatments that address these mechanisms
  2. Discover new targets for the development of more effective mechanism-based therapies
  3. Identify objective quantifiable measures to diagnose and track the progression of vulvar disease and responses to treatment
  4. Empower our patients and reduce taboo and stigma through peer-reviewed, highly visible research

We are centered in a clinical department and work closely with our treating physicians, which enables us to better envision the practical applications of our research. We seek to translate our findings from “bench to bedside” and are currently planning a clinical trial.
