Research Interest: Microbial pathogens and the impact of human microbial flora on human health and disease.

Research Staff

Ann Gill
Ann Lindley Gill
Lab Manager/Senior Technical Associate

Graduate Students

Emily Britt
Research Interest:

Investigating the influence of gut microbiome-derived polyamines on host-pathogen interactions and immune responses in the context of Staphylococcus aureus bone infection

Tina Bui
Research Interest: Chronic inflammation in obesity/type 2 diabetes exacerbate S. aureus osteomyelitis. By examining gut microbiota-associated mechanism(s) which can restore immune homeostasis in obese/type 2 diabetics, we can identify potential therapeutics and prognosis markers to improve infection outcomes.
Christie
 Gilbert
Research Interest: Understanding the ecological shifts within the oral microbiome of infants/pregnant women, and how that plays a role in the development of Early Childhood Caries (ECC). With this information, we aim to identify new diagnostics or preventative methods for ECC.
Lyvia Markle
Research Interest:

Investigating the impact of gut microbiome-derived metabolites on obese/type-2 diabetic gut barrier integrity and immune modulation in response to systemic Staphylococcus aureus infection

Research Assistants

Undergraduate Student in Biology
Research Interest: The role of nitric oxide signaling on biofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus
