Novel Biomarkers of Scleroderma
Using samples from the scleroderma biorepository, we are seeking to understand whether some of the molecules which we have identified in translational studies or seen clinical associations with may be able to serve as biomarkers for scleroderma patients. We have performed studies looking at a number of different molecules/pathways in blood from scleroderma patients including:
- The complement cascade and adipsin in SSc-PAH
- The clinical characterization of patients with 'triple negative' SSc antibodies
- CD47 and Thrombospondin 1 in scleroderma lung disease
- IGFBP7 in Sec-PAH
