The URMC Pain Treatment Center is the only center of its kind in the area. We have exceptional success with our patients, because we take a very different approach to pain management. Our team is comprised of very experienced providers. We offer a multidisciplinary approach, so you will have a complete team of pain experts working for you. Our doctors are all fellowship trained—the highest level of education available—and have over ten years experience in helping patients overcome pain. We can provide all possible interventions. This means we are better able to customize your care. And should you need a different treatment, we can provide it.

Medications

Patients will have regular medical follow-ups at the Pain Center to adjust and titrate various pain medications (opioid analgesics, antidepressants, anticonvulsants and other adjuvants).

Once patients are stabilized on an adequate pain regime they are discharged back to their primary care provider to continue with ongoing care. 

Psychological Services

Behavioral and cognitive therapies with our clinical psychologists include bio-feedback, hypnosis, and relaxation therapy. This is an integral part of pain management because chronic pain is a disabling disease and affects the person as a whole. These services are very important and very effective in improving the quality of life for patients.

Policies

Co-Payment Policy

Please be aware that it is the policy of the Pain Treatment Center and Strong Memorial Hospital that if a co-payment is due, then you are required to pay that amount at the time of your visit. We will accept cash, check, or credit card (Mastercard and Visa). If the patient is a minor, appropriate arrangements must be made for their co-payment so that they are able to provide payment at the time of their visit.

No-Show/Cancellation Policy

Please be advised that a patient can be discharged from the Pain Treatment Center if the patient has cancelled a visit without 24 hours notice on two or more occasions, has been a no show for scheduled appointments on two or more occasions, or a combination of these events. Please make every effort to keep all scheduled appointments and if you have to cancel that proper notification is given.
