Overview
The Highlands at Pittsford is a retirement community affiliated with the University of Rochester and located on the outskirts of the Village of Pittsford. The Highlands is the only University-based retirement community in Rochester. We offer two independent living options, assisted living, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an adult day program.
The Highlands at Pittsford is just a short walk from many shops and restaurants, the Erie Canal, Schoen Place, and the Pittsford Library. Tree-lined streets are perfect for walking or biking. The beautifully landscaped grounds are delightful year-round.
As an affiliate of the University of Rochester, we are connected to the finest educational, cultural, and medical institutions in the area including the University of Rochester Medical Center, Highland Hospital, the Eastman School of Music, the Memorial Art Gallery, and Visiting Nurse Service.
One benefit of this affiliation is the unparalleled learning opportunities. Every week, we host fascinating lectures and discussions right on our campus. These classes are presented by faculty members of The University of Rochester. Another benefit is the convenience of an onsite geriatric practice as a result of our affiliation with UR Medicine Geriatrics Group. Residents may choose this practice or continue to see their existing primary care physician.
