The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at St. James Medical Office Building is for people with chronic lung diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, sarcoidosis, pulmonary hypertension, those waiting lung transplants, or other lung conditions.
Our pulmonary rehabilitation unit offers:
- A modern, spacious environment
- State-of-the-art equipment
- Locker rooms with showers
- High-tech telemetry monitoring capabilities
We are open by appointment.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is provided in two phases:
- Phase II: Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation (covered by most insurance)
- Phase III: (optional and self-pay)
How Long is the Program?
Length of the program depends on your individual pulmonary diagnosis, but normal time line is 36 sessions spread over 12-20 weeks.
If you are referred to the program following an acute breathing episode, it is probable that your insurance plan will cover 36 sessions of pulmonary rehab (Level II services). Once your Level II sessions are completed, you can choose to continue the program on the maintenance basis (Level III services), and pay for the sessions out-of-pocket. We offer level III services at a greatly reduced rate. We can help you determine your insurance eligibility, as well as offer financial assistance for those who need it for both levels of Rehabilitation.
