Our Approach

Most patients are seen for an initial visit in our clinic. A diagnostic evaluation may be planned which can include MRI, EEG or an admission to Strong Memorial Hospital for Long Term, Video-EEG Monitoring where a patient’s seizures can be recorded. Recommendations may be made for future management, and patients may be followed at the center or by their referring neurologist. Both medical and surgical options are explored, and if a patient is felt to be a surgical candidate, additional evaluation may take place.

Patients are frequently seen by our psychosocial team. This team consists of specialists in Psychiatry and Psychology who can assist in managing many of the social and psychological issues that arise with the diagnosis of epilepsy.

Conditions We Treat

The Center treats people with seizures including epilepsy, intractable epilepsy and pediatric epilepsy. The seizures may be a result of a variety of underlying conditions including cortical dyplasia, tumor, etc.
