The Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship is a three-year program accredited by the American Board of Ob/Gyn and the American Board of Urology. We accept one fellow every other year. The program is designed to provide the graduate a balanced experience in clinical urogynecology, medical education, and clinical and basic science research.  The goal of the fellowship program is to provide a comprehensive three-year educational experience to prepare fellows for a career in academic medicine. Fellows participate in 2 years of clinical training including time with instructors form the divisions of Urogynecology, Female Urology, Geriatrics, Colorectal surgery, Pelvic Pain and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. The equivalent of one year is spent pursuing research activities and preparing a thesis for defense.  These educational activities are regularly reviewed for their educational value. Fellows participate in formulating changes within the program to enhance its educational value.  The fellowship program adheres to guidelines and objectives outlined by ABOG/AUA as well as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery program at the University of Rochester Medical Center provides exceptional educational opportunities for fellows and prepares them for a career in clinical and academic medicine.  Our program offers a comprehensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of complex pelvic floor disorders with options including non-surgical therapy, vaginal, abdominal, and robotic surgery.
