Ob/Gyn Research Team Members

Our research team members are a highly-engaged and well-educated group of professionals. They have a wide variety of experience in study design, coordination, human subjects, regulatory compliance, wet lab work, community engagement, data analysis, animal research, focus groups, mobile app development, qualitative and quantitative methods, and everything in between!

Rebecca A. Rowley, MS is the Research Administrator for the department and co-director of the Office of Research Administration. Trained as a Biochemist, she completed her Masters degree at the Simon School of Business. She facilitates the grant process for all Ob/Gyn faculty from the first spark of an idea to the final document hand-off to the sponsor. She is enthusiastic about finding funding for all faculty interested in research. She is also responsible for the post-award management of grants, contracts, and clinical studies. Jessica Brunner is the study coordinator for Dr. Emily Barrett’s UPSIDE study. She will recruit women during their first trimester and will follow up with them through their pregnancy to 15 months postnatal. She is also the coordinator for Dr. Kimberly O’Brien and Dr. Eva Pressman’s research on vitamin D and infection during pregnancy. Prior to her work at Strong, Jessica worked at the Waisman Center at UW-Madison, researching neurodegenerative diseases. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Outside of work Jessica enjoys sports and outdoor activities, cooking, and travel.

Sarah Caveglia is a study coordinator Upstate Kids as well as contributing to several departmental studies, including Dr. Barrett’s TIDES study.  She provides statistical planning, data analysis, and manuscript preparation in addition to her traditional coordinator duties of regulatory compliance, subject recruitment and implementation.  She has a bachelor’s in Biotechnology from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MPH from the University of Rochester.  Outside of work, Sarah enjoys long distance running and traveling.

Rayanna Chambers is the Staff Accountant for Ob/Gyn. She received her Bachelors in Business Economics and has a great interest in helping the team facilitate the post-award management of grants.

Ken Edell is the Database Administrator for the department.  He has been with the Ob/Gyn department for nine years and is responsible for managing the birth-related databases which are used for quality assessment and research purposes.

Camila Ospina Fadul is the Administrative Assistant for Dr. Timothy Dye and the research division. Her training in the administrative field comes from managing and conducting choral ensembles for over 17 years. She is passionate about learning new languages and is fluent in Spanish and English. She is currently learning ASL and has a basic conversational knowledge in German. Her goal is to travel around the world learning from other cultures and learning as many languages as she can.

Lynda KochmanLynda Kochman, RN
Senior Clinical Research Coordinator
Lynda Kochman, RN, CRCC is an experienced clinical coordinator of research studies in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has recruited regionally and coordinated numerous pediatric vaccine trials in the Rochester area since 1985. She joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2001 and has served as the regional site coordinator for several multi-site studies in the Department of OB/GYN. She brings 25 years of experience in study subject recruitment, subject follow-up and cross-site collaboration to the Rochester site. Research coordinating responsibilities include coordinating the recruitment, planning, implementation, on-going conduct, and documentation of clinical research trials sponsored by industry, government and private organizations. Supervision of staff assisting with study. Maintaining SOP’s, data quality and regulatory compliance. Lynda is a registered nurse. She received her nursing degree in Montreal, Canada where she is from originally. She received her certification in clinical research coordinating (CCRC) in 2001. Lynda moved to Rochester in 1979 with her husband where they raised their three now grown children.

Divya Kumar, MPH is the study coordinator for Dr. Bala Bhagavath.  Her primary focus is the Global Endometrial Ablation Study.  Divya completed her Masters in Public Health from the University of Rochester and has a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology.  She became interested in clinical research during her Masters program, when she was involved in various research projects.  Outside of work she enjoys traveling as much as possible.

Study Coordinator
Roycelyn Tisdale is a study coordinator whose primary focus is the UPSIDE study. Roycelyn assists in all aspects of the study including recruitment, subject monitoring and follow-up, and data collection and maintenance. Roycelyn obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science - Healthcare Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport in 2014. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Health Administration at Roberts Wesleyan College and is expected to complete the program in May 2018.
