- Everyone who comes to me is deserving of unconditional respect and decency, and of my best efforts.
- Anyone can benefit from having an advocate.
- Habits are hard to change, and health-related habits are even harder.
There are often more immediate things to worry about. Meaningful change happens slowly, and may not be apparent from one visit to the next.
- Superstition and wishful thinking can cause a lot of avoidable suffering. There is considerable research evidence for the benefits and harms of many medical interventions - my job is to help people make the best decision for themselves, informed by the best available scientific evidence.

My problem was diagnosed the same day, and I was given an urgent referral to an ortho specialist. [...] I was encouraged when he ordered x-rays the same day of the appointment and got back to me later that day with a diagnosis and referral. [...]

During my recent appointment with the covering doctor, Dr. Lurie, I felt disrespected and unheard. [...] I felt interrogated about my prescriptions for Xanax and Adderall despite being transparent about my medical history. I explained that I had been prescribed Adderall for ADHD by my previous PCP, Dr. Lieberman, but stopped taking it due to side effects. Dr. Lurie seemed to misunderstand my explanation and repeatedly questioned my honesty, even inaccurately noting that I claimed the pharmacy continuously refills the prescription.Additionally, when I mentioned that I've worked at ADT for eight years but had taken no unplanned days off in the past three years, he misquoted me, claiming I hadn't taken any days off during the entire eight-year period. His repeated mentions of missed appointments felt condescending and left me feeling like I was treated as a suspect rather than a patient. While I understand the need for thorough questioning, it should be handled with respect and understanding, especially when a patient feels vulnerable.

The doctor I saw was not my Primary Care Doctor- I was told he comes in to help - my doctor was not in the office and I needed to see someone regarding my sinus issues. He was thorough and a good listener.

This visit was for my 15 year old son. It was a combination well visit & med check. The provider was filling in for Dr Lenhard who recently retired. [...] The Dr. Seemed nice but just a different style from what we are used to. Slow & soft spoken is not a good fit for my son. [...]

This visit went very well. However, I came in for a specific problem I have been experiencing. Unfortunately, my primary care person was out on leave. Dr. Lurie did not know me, I think he did not read my records. But as he examined me and made comments, I would say. "Well, the pressure has been high lately." He did give me a medication and suggestions. It really was a simple problem. He was very nice and I felt comfortable with him. I was glad there was someone to fill in for Kristan
