Dr. John F. Cox III received his BA degree from Williams College, and then his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He trained in the University of Rochester's Primary Care Program in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Medical Resident at The Genesee Hospital in 1994-95.

Since 1995 Dr. Cox has been a general internist, providing primary care and teaching -- with a particular interest in promoting the practice and teaching of evidence-based medicine.
Philosophy
Dr. Cox is enthusiastic about helping patients quit smoking and other healthy lifestyle issues.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Cox was born near Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in Charlotte, North Caroline. He taught English in Japan for a year and a half before obtaining his MD. He and his wife have three children. Dr. Cox is an avid soccer fan
