She is licensed in New York State as a Family Nurse practitioner, is certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and is board certified in Pain Management Nursing. She is a member of the The Nurse Practitioner Association of NYS, The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and The American Pain Society.
Michelle's background is diverse and specialized. As a registered nurse she worked and was involved in all aspects of emergency nursing, prehospital care, and flight nursing.
As a Nurse Practitioner she continued to practice per diem in the emergency department and maintain full-time practice status as a Nurse Practitioner in other areas. For 8 years, she cared for the dialysis patient population's chronic medical and psychosocial needs.
Due to her expertise in fistula management she was recruited by the vascular surgery group to promote their dialysis vascular access program. In addition to vascular access management, she provided clinic visits to a variety of vascular surgery patient specific entities to include arterial and venous diseases and syndromes. During her time with vascular surgery, she developed the neurogenic thoracic outlet clinic with Dr. Karl Illig.
Michelle translated her skills to the NeuroMedicine Pain Management clinic in 2010-2023 where she she provided expertise consultation for Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. In addition she is well versed and skilled in many pain syndromes, neuromodulation therapy and intrathecal pumps.
In 2023 she transferred to the department of OB/GYN. She has translated her pain skills to the management of chronic overlapping pelvic pain conditions such as myofascial pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, pudendal neuralgia, and interstitial cystitis. She is working in conjunction with skilled minimally invasive gynecological surgeons who provide also provide gender affirmation care.
