Garrett Coles is a pediatric cardiac intensivist who is board-eligible in both pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology. Garrett graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in Exercise Science and Nutritional Science. He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern with a distinction in Health Policy. Dr. Coles completed his pediatric residency at the University of Rochester. He excelled in both pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellowships at the University of Rochester Medical Center and is now an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in Pediatric Critical Care and Cardiology. Dr. Coles is the Medical Director of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for Golisano Children’s Hospital with clinical interests in pediatric cardiac critical care, pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology. In collaboration with the Surgical Director, he is responsible for the administration and clinical oversight of the medical management and execution of ECMO. Dr. Coles’ clinical and academic focus is on neonatal and pediatric extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and he currently serves as the GCH Pediatric ECMO medical director. In addition he is interested in resolving health disparities amongst critically ill children.
