About Me

Lauren is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from St. John Fisher University in 2013 and began her career as a registered nurse on an acute medicine unit. She returned to St. John Fisher to earn her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner...
Lauren is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from St. John Fisher University in 2013 and began her career as a registered nurse on an acute medicine unit. She returned to St. John Fisher to earn her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017, and then completed a postgraduate Urgent Care Fellowship. Lauren has practiced as a NP thus far in Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine- which included caring for patients at Strong West ED, the ED Observation Unit, the Pediatric ED, and Strong ED.

After witnessing the exceptional care her grandmother, and later her uncle received from the inpatient palliative care team, she was inspired to pursue a career in Palliative Care medicine, where she currently practices. She considers it a privilege to support patients and families during some of life's most challenging moments and strives to provide the same holistic, compassionate care her family received.

Passionate about education and mentorship, Lauren earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University in 2023. Her scholarly project focused on creating and implementing a preceptor development program for Emergency Medicine NP and PA preceptors. She previously worked as a Health Assessment Lab Instructor for undergraduate nursing students at St. John Fisher and she currently serves as a NP Student Virtual Reality Simulation Moderator, facilitating immersive simulation experiences.

Lauren's professional interests include clinical education, preceptor development, simulation-based learning, and palliative care medicine.
