Dr. Chin was born and raised in Portland, Maine. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied biology and religious studies. After college he researched ovarian cancer at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He went on to earn his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester. He subsequently served a year as Chief Resident before joining the GAMA Internal Medicine Practice at Highland Hospital.

Dr. Chin’s passion is in General Internal Medicine and caring for patients both in the clinic as well as in the hospital. As a physician he views himself as a teacher with the goal of helping his patients better understand their conditions so they may be well informed and feel empowered to make a change in their health. His academic interests lie in Clinical Reasoning which is the study of the cognitive steps physicians make to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan.

While not practicing medicine Dr. Chin spends most of his time chasing his three children and working on his golf game in hopes of becoming a PGA Tour Professional one day.
