Katherine Nicholson received her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From there, she spent a year at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, exploring her interests in Orthopedic Surgery before attending medical school at the University of Rochester. After that, she returned back to New York City and completed her intern year at NY Presbyterian-Weill Cornell. Once her intern year was finished, Dr. Nicholson returned back to Rochester, starting her family and completing her residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She has been a hospitalist within our Hospital Medicine division since residency, where she enjoys caring for our patients, working with our multidisciplinary teams and teaching our residents and medical students. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Nicholson can be found with her family, running after her two young girls.
