Wunnie Brima MD, PhD earned his medical and postdoctoral degrees from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Dr. Brima’s doctoral research, done under the supervision of Dr. Jesse Roth at the Feinstein Institute Northwell Health System, was on the effect of the metabolic syndrome on the course of Trypanosoma Cruzi infection. He completed his residency training at the Mount Sinai Hospital Bronx Internal Medicine program. Upon completion of his residency training, he joined the Hospital Medicine division at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. He later joined the Hospital Medicine Division at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr. Brima has a particular interest in reducing the cost of waste in the Healthcare system; he is currently enrolled in the Medical Management Program at Simons Business School at the University of Rochester where he will earn a degree in Master of Science in Business Administration (M.S.B.A.). In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, and likes photography, astronomy and traveling.
