Dr. Louie practiced general infectious diseases and internal medicine in central New Jersey for over 22 years. He brings this breadth and depth of experience, along with the personal touch of a private practitioner, to his new faculty position at University of Rochester.

Dr. Louie has over 50 publications in peer reviewed journals, including case reports, articles on antibiotics, and humanist essays about patients. His fields of interest include general infectious diseases, antibiotic stewardship, orthopedic infections, and wound care.

Dr. Louie has practiced general infectious diseases for over 20 years in the New Jersey area. He founded the antimicrobial stewardship program at St. Peter's University Hospital in 2012, and supervised it until early 2019. He is on the editorial board of Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice. ...
Dr. Louie has practiced general infectious diseases for over 20 years in the New Jersey area. He founded the antimicrobial stewardship program at St. Peter's University Hospital in 2012, and supervised it until early 2019. He is on the editorial board of Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice.

His interests include general infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, wound care, and orthopedic infections. He is on the IDSA medical education subcommittee.

He has published case reports, scientific reports, and humanist articles in New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice. He has presented abstracts on antimicrobial stewardship and telemedicine for ID Week 2020-3.

He presented an interactive session at ID Week 2022 on wound care, and a workshop on wound care at ID Week 2023.

Dr. Louie knows and remembers my case details at every follow-up. He preps in advance on blood test and imaging results and discuses them in detail with me. We have thorough conversations to answer any of my questions.

I feel Dr Louie kind of goes over board with my care. My appointment was for a follow up regarding my infection yet he was doing an overall health assessment and covering all issues when I had already met with my primary doctor the week before.
