Between 1996 and early 2019, he practiced internal medicine and infectious diseases in central New Jersey. During that time, he established the antimicrobial stewardship program at St. Peter's University Hospital, and was also a member of the infection prevention committee.
He joined the faculty at University of Rochester Medical Center in 2019, and is currently the Clinical Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases.

His interests include general infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, wound care, and orthopedic infections. He is on the IDSA medical education subcommittee.
He has published case reports, scientific reports, and humanist articles in New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice. He has presented abstracts on antimicrobial stewardship and telemedicine for ID Week 2020-3.
He presented an interactive session at ID Week 2022 on wound care, and a workshop on wound care at ID Week 2023.
