About Me

Dr. Patel obtained his undergraduate education at Carnegie Mellon University, where he majored in Biological Sciences, with a focus in Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After his undergraduate studies, he received a post-baccalaureate intramural research training award at the NIH, where hi...
Dr. Patel obtained his undergraduate education at Carnegie Mellon University, where he majored in Biological Sciences, with a focus in Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After his undergraduate studies, he received a post-baccalaureate intramural research training award at the NIH, where his research focused on gene expression assays in chronic abdominal pain and irritable bowel syndrome. His continued research interest led him to the Basic Medical Science Program at New York Medical College (NYMC); it is there he also obtained his Medical Degree in 2017. At NYMC, he continued his research interests with a focus in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He also served as chapter President of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Patel then moved to Rochester for his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is now a hospitalist within the Department of Medicine, with a special interest in medical education and working with both medical students and residents.
